BACKGROUND
background
The City of Greensboro and Guilford County have shared ownership of the 800 MHz trunked public safety radio system from inception in 1995. Currently we are undergoing a multi-year upgrade of the system. This amendment serves as the payment terms for FY 2018-19. This will be Amendment #12 of contract 36460-04/95-211 with an effective date of July 1, 2018. Also, specifies the funding of the UHF paging components of the agreement, as well as system maintenance.
The COUNTY’S maximum exposure for: capital funds in Fiscal Year 2019 is 774,019.93 for a 50% share of radio infrastructure $472,138.81 for a 50% of direct system maintenance expense with Motorola County will pay Motorola directly for UHF infrastructure, which has received discounted pricing through the MAP agreement with the CITY of Greensboro $81,355.29

BUDGET IMPACT
budget impact
Funding for the project has been previously approved through the Capital Improvements Plan. Funding for maintenance is included in the proposed FY 2018-19 Emergency Services budget and COMMENSURATE WITH THE ADOPTION OF THE FY 2018-19 BUDGET.
