BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its October 16th, 2017 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2017-05, being 63.67 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0138844 @ 63.67 acres), all owned by Carl Clayton of Summerfield, NC (not within Town limits); and
2. EVAD Application # 2017-06, being 32.74 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0123633 @ 32.74 acres), all owned by Ronald Roberson of Julian, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 369 totaling, 16,101.61 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 337 parcels comprising 14,818.88 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 32 parcels comprising 1282.73 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
