BACKGROUND
Background
Funding received from the High Point Community Foundation for creating sustainable school gardens and nutrition education in High Point schools, creating a cohesive unit curriculum book that includes lesson plans and curriculum that are correlated directly to the Common Core and Essential Standards utilizing an outdoor garden classroom and to sustain the work being done in schools by engaging families in the same garden and nutrition education through such things as family cooking classes.
There is NO COUNTY FUNDING REQUIRED.

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Approve an increase in Other Revenues by $3,400 and increase the FY 2017-18 Cooperative Extension Service budget by the same amount to reflect the deferred revenue received from the High Point Community Foundation for garden & nutrition education in classroom and community cooking and summer camps in partnership with local recreation centers.
