BACKGROUND
background
The County Fire Marshal's Office has maintained separate contracts with each of the Towns of the County for the last many years, with varying terms and conditions. The BOC directed the department and County Manager to standardize those terms and create new agreements. Staff has done so, with Legal approval. Each town will now be charged $50 per hour for inspections and investigations, and there will be NO cap on the amount the County can charge.

requested action
Approve standardized Fire Marshal Contract, in substantial form, with Town of Summerfield, Town of Oak Ridge, Town of Stokesdale, Town of Gibsonville, Town of Whitsett, Town of Sedalia, Town of Jamestown, and the Town of Pleasant Garden to be effective July 1, 2017 for a term of 1 year, and subject to annual renewals.
