BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its February 20th, 2017 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2017-01, being 64.31 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#0225332 @64.31 acres), all owned by Don York of Julian, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 363 totaling 15,855.62 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 333 parcels comprising 14,656.99 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 30 parcels comprising 1198.63 acres are enrolled in EVAD.
