BACKGROUND
Background
The Family Justice Center (FJC) requests board approval to appropriate $5,000 of fund balance (Family Justice Center Gifts/Other) and $500 of Other Revenues (Donations) towards the following expenses:
$ 5,000 - Furniture and Office Supplies for FJC expansion into 201 S. Greene St. basement space
$ 500 - Food and Provisions for FJC client services and hospitality
$ 5,500 - Total
Increased client demand for services has resulted in the need to relocate FJC partners into basement offices, which will create space on the first floor for a second waiting area and additional intake rooms. In the waiting and intake areas, FJC offers provisions for victims, and their families, in the midst of crises. Additionally, FJC facilitates meetings with the Elder Justice Committee, and other community partners, to expand its outreach efforts and build a diverse network of support for victims of violence and abuse. Individual citizens and organizations have donated funds to assist the FJC in moving forward with these initiatives.
Approximately $31,000 was available in Family Justice Center Gifts/Other fund balance prior to this appropriation.

Greene St., and food and provisions for FJC client services and hospitality.
