BACKGROUND
Background
Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health Division receives Meaningful Use Medicaid Incentive funds. Meaningful Use is the set of standards defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Incentive Programs that govern the use of electronic health records and allows eligible providers and hospitals to earn incentive payments for meeting specific criteria. Public Health has met that criteria and attested that we are using certified electronic medical records products and reporting the number of Medicaid clients that each of our eligible providers served during the period July 3, 2016 through September 30, 2016. Total incentive amount received for meaningful use is $127,500.
Funds will be used for technology upgrades in clinic areas, along with additional education and training for CureMD system. Unspent funds at the end of FY 2017 will be carried forward to FY 2018.
