BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is requesting approval to purchase thirty-three (29) Law Enforcement vehicles from the listed dealers and contract numbers:

Twelve(12) 2017 Dodge Chargers Pursuit AWD, will be purchased from Ilderton Dodge Chyrsler 1701 S. Main St High Point, NC 27260 from NCSA contract 17-03-0912

Three (3) 2017 Ford Police Interceptors Utility AWD, will be purchased from Asheville Ford and Lincoln 611 Brevard Rd. Asheville, NC 28806 from NCSA contract 17-03-0912.

Five (5) 2017 Ford Transit T-350 Cargo Vans, will be purchased from Asheville Ford and Lincoln 611 Brevard Rd. Asheville, NC 28806 from NCSA contract 17-03-0912.

Two (2) undercover vehicles (used), will be purchased from local automobile dealerships per County and State guidelines.

Six (6) 2017 Ford Interceptor Sedans will be purchased from Ken Wilson Ford 769 Champion Dr. Canton, NC 28716 from NCSA 17-03-0912.

One (1) 2017 Toyota Sienna Minivan will be purchased from Modern Toyota Scion 3178 Peters Creek Pkwy. Winston Salem, NC 27127 from NCSA Contract 17-03-0912.


All vehicles, with exception of the undercover vehicles, will be purchased from North Carolina Sheriff Association Contract 17-03-0912, and the undercover vehicle will be purchased from a local automobile dealership, per County and State guidelines. The total purchase will not exceed $953,627.74 and includes the 3% Highway Use Tax. These vehicles are replacing aging vehicles, due to high mileage and increasing maintenance costs; funding for fleet replacment was approved in the adopted Capital Outlay for FY 2016/2017.
