BACKGROUND
Background
On May 7, 2015, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners declared the above referenced properties as surplus property to be sold Sealed Bid, Upset Bid or through other applicable guidelines. The City of High Point has expressed a desire to purchase these two properties and, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-274, the properties may be sold to another governmental unit through negotiated sale without the need for Upset Bids for the total amount due to the County in taxes and associated fees. The Tax Value of the two parcels are $7,000 ($3,500 for each lot). The current total for taxes owed and associated fees on the two (2) properties is $4,232.56 and the City of High Point is offering to purchase them for the total amount due to the County.

Requested Action
Accept an Offer to Purchase from the City of High Point, for County owned surplus property located at 912 & 914 Howard Place, High Point, NC in the amount of $4,232.56. Authorize the County Manager to enter into and execute a sales contract with the City of High Point, and authorize staff to take all reasonable and necessary steps to execute the sale of the property.
