BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office has been awarded (3) grants.
The Governor's Crime Commission has awarded 3 grants as follows:
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT- $24,500 This grant requires NO LOCAL MATCH and is to be used for law enforcement technology. The Sheriff's Office is seeking to replace a regular server with a virtual server. This will enable more efficient and professional operations with reference to storage, licensure, etc. for data.
COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING GRANT-$32,000 This grant requires NO LOCAL MATCH and is to be used for overtime/part-time pay and equipment to assist in covert investigations related to instances of Human Trafficking within Guilford County.
EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT(JAG)- $51,542 This grant is a combined application grant with the City of Greensboro Police Department, City of High Point Police Department. Guilford County's portion is $51,542. This grant requires NO LOCAL MATCH and is to be used for in car keyboards, backseat cameras for patrol cars, computer (tablet/charger) office supplies.

Requested Action
Increase the Law Enforcement FY 2017 Budget by $108,042 and increase Federal/State revenues by the same amount to reflect the receipt of three Governor's Crime Commission grants.
