BACKGROUND
background
There are new ASTM standards, approved in July 2016, for the securing of equipment in ambulances. The number one risk to providers and patients is the stretcher becoming dislodged during transport, and is being addressed by this upgrade. The stretcher mount and installation was bid under county event #518, and notice of award provided to Stryker for the mount @$5,800 each and installation at $1,000 each. Also included is the XPS retaining system for $2,015.52

Funds for purchase are included in Emergency Services' FY 2016-17 adopted budget per the major equipment plan. NO ADDITIONAL COUNTY FUNDS REQUIRED

REQUESTED ACTION
requested action
Approve price only agreement with Stryker, Inc., 3800 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002, for the purchase of stretcher mounts ($5,800) and installation ($1,000) in EMS vehicles. Upgrades and installation was bid through Purchasing under event #518. It is estimated that Emergency Services will purchase 21 mounts and installation initially during FY17, for a total amount of $142,800. Price only agreement is good for three years.
