BACKGROUND
background
Guilford County EMS utilizes a highly sophisticated multi-parameter cardiac monitor/defibrillator/pacemaker manufactured by Physio-Control. The monitors were purchased in 2010/2011 with an initial five year maintenance agreement. That maintenance agreement corresponded with the estimated serviceable life of the purchase. The monitors have held up exceptionally well, and we believe we should continue to use them, but must extend maintenance agreements to do so. This item was bid through Purchasing, event #547, and bids were closed in late December. This is the first BOC meeting that the proposed contract can appear. We currently have 60 monitors, and for no break in service, the contract is dated back to January 1, 2017, price only for one year with the option for 3-one year renewal.
Attached are the bid spec and response from Physio-Control, which formerly did business as Medtronic.
