BACKGROUND

Background

Law Enforcement is requesting to appropriate $13,041 in Explorer Post contributions that were received in previous years, but were unexpended. In the current fiscal year's budget, $3,000 of these unexpended contributions were already appropriated as Other Revenues but will now be moved to Appropriated Fund Balance. Together, this represents a total unexpended contributions amount of $16,041. In addition to the appropriation of unexpended Explorer Post contributions, Law Enforcement is requesting that the Board of Commissioners create an assigned fund balance for these Explorer Post contributions, reflecting the intent to use unexpended portions only to support the Law Enforcement Explorer Post.
