BACKGROUND

Background

On May 7, 2015 the Board of Commissioners voted to declare as surplus for properties located throughout Guilford County attained through Property Tax Foreclosure, dedication and gifting. At the direction of the Board, these properties approved to be sold  by the Sealed Bid method as prescribed by NCGS 160A-268. On September 21, 2016, these properties were advertised for sale with Sealed Bids due on September 21, 2016 at 5:00PM. On September 22 at 9:00 AM, a public Bid Opening was held where we received bids on seven (7) properties. All of these bids met the criteria as laid out in the Advertisement for Sealed Bid, including a Deposit of at least 5% in the form of Certified Funds. The seven (7) highest bidders were declared as the Highest Qualified Bidder.

Approve the sale of surplus properties located at 1512 R1 Falcon Rd, Greensboro for $4000.00; 135-137 Flemingfield Rd, Greensboro for $10,000.00; 1510-1512 Hidden Creek Terrace, High Point for $24,505.99; 1401-1405 Jordan Place, High Point for $7601.00; 2930 ZZ Lees Chapel Rd, Greensboro for $3500.00; 1900 R1 Sharpe Rd, Greensboro for $4000.00; and 8700 Sherfield Rd, Colfax for $3500.00 to the current highest bidder, and authorize staff to take all reasonable and necessary steps to execute the sale of the property.
