BACKGROUND
Background
Public Health has operated an American Heart Association (AHA) - approved training center for over fifteen (15) years. The training center houses AHA instructors who provide training in CPR, First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to staff and the community, and serves as the home center for approximately 120 instructors. When comparing our current charge for Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor training for new instructors of $125 with other local providers, we are below market value. Public Health proposes increasing the BLS new instructor training fee to $225, to remain competitive, yet continuing to offer affordable training for community instructors. Public Health expects to train nine (9) new instructors this fiscal year.
