BACKGROUND

Background

North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Benchmark 37 reads: “The local board of health shall assure the development, implementation and evaluation of the local health services and programs to protect and promote the public’s health.”

Within Benchmark 37 is activity 37.2 which reads; “The local board of health shall approve policies for the administration of local public health programs.”

Program Directors are required to review the assigned agency guidelines on an annual basis and make the necessary changes and modifications as needed. The review of all agency guidelines occurred in June and July of 2016. Commissioner Justin Conrad has reviewed the agency’s guidelines and any changes or modifications have been made. The division is seeking an approval by the Board of Commissioners, acting as the Guilford County Board of Health, of the agency’s guidelines upon the recommendation of Commissioner Justin Conrad. Hard copy of complete changes on file in Clerk to Board's office.
