BACKGROUND

Background

Law Enforcement has been awarded a Governor's Highway Safety Grant totaling $74,450 to support the DWI Taskforce Educator position. Federal/State Revenue from the grant total $52,115. The grant requires a 30% local match equaling $22,335, which was included in the FY 2017 Law Enforcement budget.

Since the grant runs from October 1 to September 30, only 75% of the funds are needed in the FY 2017 fiscal year and the remaining 25% will be budgeted in FY 2018. This means $55,838 in expenses needs to be budgeted in FY 2017, with $39,087 in revenue. In FY 2018, the department will budget $18,612 in expenses with $13,028 in revenue.
