BACKGROUND
Background
The volunteer organization known as the Randolph County Honor Guard is composed of more than 85 veterans who provide free burial honors for veterans in both Randolph and Guilford County. The volunteer organization was formed in 1990 with ten (10) founding members and has grown over the years. The Randolph County Honor Guard has preformed burial honors for hundreds of veterans in both Randolph and Guilford Counties, with a large portion of these services being conducted in Guilford County. The honor guard is seeking authorization to utilize the Guilford County logo on their uniforms to help promote the free service they provide for Guilford County residents and support recruitment of additional volunteers in the Guilford Community to participate in the honor guard program.

REQUESTED ACTION
Requested Action
Authorize the Randolph County Honor Guard to utilize the Guilford County Seal; specifically, for uniform patches, to be worn for the purposes of providing burial honors at no cost to veterans in Guilford County; and authorize staff to take any such additional measures to ensure that proper release documentation is executed.
