RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF
BISHOP WILLIAM STUDYVANT
WHEREAS, Bishop William Studyvant is a dedicated community and spiritual leader, whose faith and perseverance have enriched the lives of his family and local citizens; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to service led to a career in the United States Army, where he honorably served his country during World War II as a quartermaster, risking personal safety to protect and guarantee the basic rights enjoyed throughout the nation; and
WHEREAS, upon his return home, Bishop Studyvant devoted his life to engaging, motivating and supporting the community through faith-based leadership and guidance, as founding Minister of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, and as Senior Bishop at Cornerstone Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, his dedication to community and ministry is only surpassed by his love and affection for family: wife, the late Anna Lee Young Studyvant; their four (4) children; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom he continues to instill his values of generosity, sacrifice, faith and compassion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Guilford County Board of Commissioners express their appreciation and admiration for the life and contributions of Bishop William Studyvant, and extends its sincerest congratulations in celebration of his 102nd birthday.
