BACKGROUND
Background
On January 21, 2016 the Board of Commissioners voted to declare as surplus, and accept an unsolicited offer for a home and lot located at 1300 E. Commerce Avenue in High Point, NC, that was acquired by the County as a Tax Foreclosure. At the direction of the Board, the property then entered into the upset bid process. On May 1, 2016, the property was advertised for a ten (10) day upset bid, per NCGS 160A-269. In total, six (6) separate ten (10) day upset bid periods were conducted. A bid of $5,350 was received at the July 26, 2016 bid opening and was declared the highest qualifying bid. The property was subsequently advertised for a ten (10) day upset bid, with the bid opening occurring on August 9, 2016. No additional bids were received. The total delinquent taxes and costs are $4,467.45. The current bid is $5,350 and the tax value of the property is $14,200.
