BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its January 11, 2021 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application #2021-01, being 15.12 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#227081 @ 15.12 acres) all owned by Jerry Payne Ring of Colfax, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 414, totaling 18,053.28 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 372 parcels comprising 16,316.04 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 42 parcels comprising 1737.24 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
