BACKGROUND

Background

On July 7, 2026, Governor Stein signed Senate Bill 257, now Session Law 2026-41, into law, establishing a North Carolina State Budget and passing various state policy changes. The purpose of this presentation is to review the impact of this bill on our organization and community and highlight upcoming next steps and necessary action to ensure compliance with the current statutory landscape.
