BACKGROUND
background
The attached agreements provide funding for library services within Guilford County. The County does not provide library services directly so funds are distributed to the cities of Greensboro (the state-recognized county library system for Guilford County) and High Point (a state-recognized municipal library) to provide these services. Support is also provided to the community libararies of Gibsonville and Jamestown.
The agreements are effective July 1, 2016 and are subject to final approval and any non-material revisions made by the County Manager. The agreements shall continue for a term of five (5) years with annual review, unless terminated pursuant to the terms therein. The County will provide annual funding to each of the municipalities totaling $1,827,807. The details of the allocation are as follows:
- Greensboro: $1,356,847
- High Point: $359,960
- Gibsonville: $55,500
- Jamestown: $55,500
These funds are for the 2016-17 Fiscal Year and will be distributed after submission of an expense report and perfomance report regarding library operations.
