BACKGROUND
Background
Social Services staff are preparing new service contracts for the next twelve (12) months, which will span from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027. Based on contracts having an estimated amount greater than $200,000, the Board of County Commissioners must approve the contracts. These contracts include vendors which provide In-Home Aide services for our Aging and Adult population in Guilford County.
In-Home Aide Services vendors provide supportive services to older and disabled adults allowing them to remain safely in their homes and communities. The services of In-Home Aide promote independence, prevent premature placement into long-term care facilities and nurture self-determination. In-Home Aide contracts requiring Board approval at this time are:
$ 542,000 ADULT CENTER FOR ENRICHMENT
$ 442,000 CARING HANDS HOME HEALTH, INC
$ 375,000 ARO COMMUNITY SERVICES INC
$ 278,000 EMMANUEL SENIOR ENRICHMENT CENTER
$ 238,000 SHIPMAN FAMILY HOME CARE INC
All funding for the final three (3) months of the term that fall into FY 2028 (July 1-September 30, 2027) will be contingent upon funding in the FY 2028 budget.
