BACKGROUND
Background
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has requested a resolution indicating concurrence of abandonment of maintenance for a .11 mile section of SR 1116 (Bishop Road). Properties on either side of this section of Bishop Road are located in two Board of Commissioner Districts (North Side of Bishop Rd - District 1 Foster; South side of Bishop Rd - District 2 Perdue). NCDOT resolution packet is attached. Planning and Development Dept. Sec. of State Corp. search indicates that both CC&LC Properties, LLC and LYNCHRIS, LLC are active with Jimmy D. Clark listed as Manager.

If approved, the resolution (attached) will be forwarded to the State Board of Transportation for final approval.

RESOLUTION REQUESTING ABANDONMENT OF A .11 MILE SECTION OF SECONDARY ROAD 1116 (BISHOP ROAD)
FROM THE NORTH CAROLINA STATE MAINTAINED
SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM

WHEREAS, as authorized by N.C.G.S. 136-63, the attached petition (request) received from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, has been filed with the Guilford County Board of Commissioners requesting that a 0.11 mile section of SR 1116, Bishop Road, the location of which has been indicated on the attached map, be abandoned from the North Carolina State Maintained Secondary Road System; and
WHEREAS, the County Planning Staff has reviewed the request of abandonment and find that no property owner would be deprived of reasonable means of ingress and egress to his/her property, and there would be no negative impacts from maintenance being abandoned on the 0.11 mile portion of SR 1116, Bishop Road; and therefore the Planning Department Staff recommends in favor of the request to abandon the said portion of the road; and
