BACKGROUND
background
According to the NC Division of Public Health Child Health Agreement Addenda, the local health department will maintain a written agreement with the local school district (s) within its service area. Guilford County. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focuses on students' need from both health and educational perspectives. Each Local Education Agency will make available a registered nurse for assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation of student with special health care service needs in a school setting.
Currently Public Health has 66 school nurses on site at 125 schools with an estimated student population of 67,000.
