BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its November 16, 2015 meeting, the Guilford Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following application:
1. VAD Application # 2015-13, being 245.85 acres and comprised of 1 Tax parcel (#0110947), all owned by Eloise T. Jones and Joseph R. Jones of Burlington, NC.
To date, approval of this application brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 350, totaling 15,239.12 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 324 parcels comprising 14,167.40 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 26 parcels comprising 1071.72 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
