BACKGROUND
Background
Social Services staff are preparing new service contracts for the next twelve (12) months, which will span from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026. Based on contracts having an estimated amount greater than $200,000, the Board of County Commissioners must approve the contracts. These contracts include vendors which provide In-Home Aide services for our Aging and Adult population and Room and Board for children in foster care in Guilford County.

In-Home Aide Services vendors provide supportive services to older and disabled adults allowing them to remain safely in their homes and communities. The services of In-Home Aide promote independence, prevent premature placement into long-term care facilities and nurture self-determination. In-Home Aide contracts requiring Board approval at this time are:

$ 537,958 ADULT CENTER FOR ENRICHMENT
$ 420,000 CARING HANDS HOME HEALTH, INC
$ 270,000 ARO COMMUNITY SERVICES INC
$ 252,000 EMMANUEL SENIOR ENRICHMENT CENTER
$ 200,000 SHIPMAN FAMILY HOME CARE INC
$ 200,000 QUALITY HOME STAFFING INC

Room and Board vendors provide housing placements for foster and other children in the County's custody and care. Placement costs vary depending on the type of placement and the specific needs of the child. These contracted facilities work with the Children's Services team to ensure that children in custody have a safe place to stay and receive the support necessary for their well-being. Room and Board contracts requiring Board approval at this time are:

$ 1,621,000 CHILDREN'S HOME SOCIETY OF NC
$ 1,578,000 CROSSNORE COMMUNITIES FOR CHILDREN
$ 1,075,000 SEVEN HOMES, INC
$ 747,000 ...
