BACKGROUND
Background
The Board of Commissioners has identified several high priority capital projects it wishes to address in fiscal year 2016-17: renovations to the Old Courthouse, repairs to the High Point Parking Deck, and repairs to the Independence Center Parking Deck. To formally initiate and/or continue the projects, the Board must create or amend several capital project ordinances.
Old Courthouse Renovation - increase the existing capital project ordinance by $7,900,000 to a total of $8,000,000. Funding source: Two-Thirds General Obligation Bonds or other future borrowed financing proceeds.
High Point Parking Deck Repairs - increase the existing capital project ordinance by $2,560,000 to a total of $3,000,000. Funding source: Appropriated Fund Balance currently budgeted in the existing EMS Maintenance & Logistics Facility capital project ordinance.
Independence Center Parking Deck Repairs - approve a new capital project ordinance for $600,000. Funding source: Appropriated Fund Balance currently budgeted in the existing EMS Maintenance & Logistics Facility capital project ordinance.
EMS Maintenance & Logistics Facility - reduce the existing capital project ordinance by $3,160,000 to fund the High Point and Independence Center Parking Deck Repair ordinances. Funding source: Appropriated Fund Balance
