BACKGROUND
Background
Since January 1, 2013, Sandhills Center for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (Sandhills) has leased County owned real property located at 5209 W. Wendover Avenue, High Point, NC (the Site) for operation of mental health and behavioral health treatment services. Upon announcement of the consolidation of Sandhills with another Managed Care Organization (MCO), the County began evaluating the lease structure for the Site and what leasing strategy may best meet the County’s current needs. After consideration, Staff recommends that leasing the property directly to the service provider, rather than the MCO, is in the best interest of the County.
Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. and Guilford County mutually desire to enter into a fourteen (14) month lease of 4.16+/- acres of real property located at 5209 W. Wendover Avenue, High Point, NC beginning on July 1, 2024, ending on August 31, 2025, at an annual rental rate of $1.00.

Requested Action
Approve, in substantial form, a fourteen (14) month lease agreement with Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. for lease of 4.16+/- acres of real property located at 5209 W. Wendover Avenue, High Point, NC, and authorize staff to take all reasonable actions to finalize and execute said lease.
