BACKGROUND
Background
During its February 27, 2021 regular meeting, the Guilford County Board of Education (BOE) declared three (3) parcels of land it owns located at 116 Pisgah Church Road, 1 Near Windsor Road and Near Edgemore Road as surplus property. The properties are identified in Guilford County Tax Department records as follows:

In accordance with NC General Statutes §160A, §115C-518 and §115C-426, the BOE is offering the Guilford County Board of Commissioners the first opportunity to obtain these properties by the exercise of its right of first refusal. If the Board does not choose to obtain these properties, the BOE intends to proceed with the process for negotiated offer set out in NCGS §160A-369, in accordance with the "Resolution Declaring Surplus Property Three Tax Parcels at 116 Pisgah Church Road" adopted by the BOE on February 27, 2021.

Requested Action
Move to not invoke the County's first right of refusal to acquire the three (3) parcels of land located at 116 Pisgah Church Road, 1 Near Windsor Road and Near Edgemore Road, in accordance with NC General Statutes §160A, §115C-518 and §115C-426, and ALLOW the Guilford County Board of Education (BOE) to proceed with the process for negotiated offer set out in NCGS §160A-369, in accordance with the "Resolution Declaring Surplus Property Three Tax Parcels at 116 Pisgah Church Road" adopted by the BOE on February 27, 2021.
