BACKGROUND

Background

During the July 14 work session, the Board asked staff to further investigate investing in the Children's Home Society's (CHS) ARPA RFI submission to "Increase the Availability of Foster Families for Children in Need." CHS has requested up to $350,000 over two years. If funded, CHS will be able to recruit, train, and license foster families to meet the needs of children referred by Guilford County's Department of Social Services. To meet current demands, CHS must add 150 licensed foster families in our County.
