BACKGROUND

Background

On April 16, 2019 the law firm of Canaday Law paid $296.00 in excise tax stamps to the Guilford County Register of Deeds office on a NC General Warranty Deed recorded in book 8144 pages 2270-2271. The amount of tax stamps shown on the deed was incorrect, the deed should have shown $284.00 in excise tax stamps. Canaday Law Firm request a refund of $12.00 for the difference in the amount paid and what the amount of excise tax should have been.
