BACKGROUND

background

Guilford County is the owner of property located at 3342 R1 Owls Roost Road, Greensboro, (Parcel Number 85690).  Owls Roost Partners, LLC (ORP) shares a common property line with the County along the northernmost boundary of the ORP Tract.   A predecessor of ORP constructed a barn (3,420 (+/-) square foot) predominantly located on the County Tract and partially on the ORP track. 

 

ORP has requested that the County provide an easement of encroachment, pursuant to N.C.G.S 160A-273, to allow them usage of the portion of the barn that is located on County property.   The County will grant the encroachment easement in exchange for insurance, access, indemnity, and other commitments made by ORP as well as the sum of $10.00.  The easement will allow ORP to use the barn to store non-hazardous personal property (excluding animals), perform maintenance and grant access to the exterior of the barn 25 feet on all sides.  ORP will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the barn as part of the easement agreement.  The barn may not be modified or moved by ORP without approval by the County.
