BACKGROUND
Background
Per the Guilford County Budget Ordinance, the Board of County Commissioners is required to approve both contract amounts above $200,000, as well as contracts requiring amendments over the course of the fiscal year that cumulatively surpass $200,000. Due to an increase in high costs placements for each of the providers noted below, HHS-DSS staff have determined three (3) current contracts (term October 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026) noted below that needs Board of County Commissioner approval. Sufficient funding exists in the HHS-DSS FY27 operating budget to complete the needed amendment.
Children's Homes of Iredell County, Inc. - Total contract with necessary addendum $200,000
-Original Amount = $120,000
-Amendment 1 = $36,000; for total contract amount of $156,000
-Amendment 2 = $44,000; for total contract amount of $200,000
Divine Intervention for Youth, Inc. - Total contract with necessary addendum $230,000
-Original Amount = $60,000
-Amendment 1 = $40,000; for total contract amount of $100,000
-Amendment 2 = $80,000; for total contract amount of $180,000
-Amendment 3 = $50,000; for total contract amount of $230,000
Youth Focus, Inc. - Total contract with necessary addendum $585,000
-Original Amount = $378,000
-Amendment 1 = $207,000; for total contract amount of $585,000

Requested Action
Approve the contract amendments, in substantial form, with Children's Homes of Iredell County, Inc.; Divine INtervention for Youth, Inc.; and Youth Focus, Inc.; and authorize staff to take all necessary actions to execute the agency services contract amendments.
