BACKGROUND
Background
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office is requesting approval to purchase four (4) Dodge Pursuit All Wheel Drive (AWD) Chargers as replacement vehicles for four previously wrecked patrol vehicles. The four (4) Dodge Chargers are being purchased from Ilderton Dodge through the NC Sheriff’s Association cooperative purchasing agreement 22-08-0913 for a unit price of $38,778, with a 4-unit total of $155,112.
These vehicles are being funded by Risk Management through a combination of remaining total loss replacement funding already included in the FY25 Adopted Budget and additional unbudgeted subrogation revenue collected by the Risk Management Department throughout the current fiscal year. Along with the approval of this purchase, staff are seeking approval of a $133,000 increase in the FY25 appropriation to the Internal Service Fund: Health Care Plan & Risk Retention - Administration, Liability, Property, & Worker's Compensation. This appropriation would be supported with $133,000 in balancing revenues that have already been collected by the County.
