BACKGROUND

Background

Dudley High School's AVT Team participated in the 2016 Shell Eco-Marathon in Detroit this April and returned with first and third place trophies in the alternative fuels category. The Team developed urban concept vehicles that were both made of recycled components and operated on alterative fuel. The team also won the Spirit Award for helping another team compete.  The AVT club is an after school program where students work together to build solar energy cars using recycled materials. The students competed amongst 177 teams to see who built the most fuel-efficient cars.
