BACKGROUND
Background
The Register of Deeds Office’s (ROD) computers have reached their END of Support (EOS) status and are no longer compatible to update to Windows 11. Pursuant to the allowances of N.C. Gen. Stat. § 161-11.3, Automation Enhancement and Preservation Fund, the ROD requests to use such available funds for the purchase of Dell Computer equipment. The requested purchase replaces 72 computers at unit pricing of $1,520.00.
Funding for this project was approved in the adoption of the FY 2024 budget. The FY24 Budget Ordinance requires approval by the Board of Commissioners for expenditures exceeding 90,000.00 in equipment at one time.
The purchase will be provided by Dell Technologies under the N.C. State Contract #204A-ITS-400203, as authorized by the state contract exemption pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-129 (e)(9).
