BACKGROUND

Background

Over the course of several work sessions, the Board has asked staff to investigate an investment of $1,525,000 total (through 2026) to expand the EMT/Paramedic Academy and launch a Fire Academy ($400,000 for EMT/Paramedic Academy expansion and $1,125,000 for the launch of a Fire Academy).  These academies will enable emergency services to attract and retain staff in critical service areas.

Requested Action

Approve the use of ARPA funding to expand the EMT/Paramedic Academy and launch the Fire Academy, and authorize all necessary budget transfers.
