BACKGROUND
Background
The High Point Preservation Society and Guilford County entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in 2017, which continues through 2025, for the Hedgecock Farm property at 407 West Parris Avenue, High Point. At the Society’s request, Guilford County developed a revised lease that removes the additional insurance requirement from the previous MOU and includes indemnification protection for the property owner, Guilford County.
This updated lease allows the High Point Preservation Society to maintain its current service model while continuing the existing agreement, including site care and improvement requirements. It is a zero-dollar lease that enables the Society to preserve and care for the historic buildings on the property.

Requested Action
Authorize staff to enter into the requested lease, in substantial form, to the High Point Preservation Society to allow the maintenance and improvement of facilities located at located at 407 West Parris Avenue, High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina, and authorize staff to take all reasonable actions to finalize and execute said lease.
