BACKGROUND
Background
The Board of County Commissioners approved $1,900,595 as part of the County-wide Technology Plan for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) to support Technology Refresh initiatives.
Health & Human Services - Division of Social Services is requesting $178,204 to purchase 81 laptops and 32 docking stations, consistent with the approved Technology Plan (see attached document for additional purchase details). These purchases will replace aging equipment in accordance with the County’s technology refresh schedule.
Technology refresh purchases do not typically require Board of County Commissioners approval. However, because this purchase exceeds $90,000, the FY26 Budget Ordinance requires BOCC authorization.
Costs associated with this purchase are eligible for 50% reimbursement through the Division of Social Services’ state and federal cost allocation structure.
