BACKGROUND
Background
The attached revision to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) funding budget for FY2023 reflects changes as a result of updating line item budgets for local external funding and additional discretionary funding awarded from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NC DPS) for the following organizations:
1. Operation Xcel - Homework Program: Budget Revision - changes to outside sources only (Approved by JCPC on 04/27/23)
-Increase of $30,000 to Local Cash
-Decrease of $39,197 to other funds (NCDPI)
-Total decrease of $9,197
2. One Step Further - Jr Sr Life Skills Program: Discretionary Funds awarded and Budget Revision
-Discretionary Funds awarded = $500
-Increase of $1,724 to Local Cash
-Total increase of $2,224
3. One Step Further - Guilford County Teen Court: Discretionary Funds awarded and Budget Revision
-Discretionary Funds awarded = $3,115
-Increase of $115 to Local Cash
-Increase of $750 to Local In-Kind
-Total Increase of $3,980
4. Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center - Tech & Robotic Academy: Discretionary Funds awarded and Budget Revision
-Discretionary Funds awarded = $5,000
-Increase of $12,100 to Local In-Kind
-Total Increase of $17,100
5. Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center -Apprenticeship Training: Discretionary Funds awarded and Budget Revision
-Discretionary Funds awarded = $10,000
-Increase of $3,000 of Local In-Kind
-Total Increase of $13,000
This results in an overall increase of $18,615 in funds awarded from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NC DPS).
