BACKGROUND

background

The Adopt-A-Mom program provides uninsured birthing individuals in Guilford County with access to affordable prenatal healthcare, health education, counseling, and resources designed to reduce infant mortality and promote healthy families. For the past 34 years, the program has partnered with local obstetric providers to deliver quality prenatal care at a reduced cost for those who do not qualify for Medicaid and are otherwise uninsured. This work is sustained through grant funding from the Guilford County Partnership for Children’s Smart Start initiative and Every Baby Guilford. Services are delivered through established partnerships with Cone Health Family Practice, Cone Health Center for Women’s Healthcare (Med Center, Femina, and Stoney Creek locations), Dr. Henry Dorn, and the Greensboro and High Poi...
