BACKGROUND

Background

To comply with N.C. Gen.Stat. §65-106, the City of High Point has submitted a certification of the necessity to relocate a grave within the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery owned by the City as well as a plan for the relocation. Under N.C. Gen.Stat. §65-106, the relocation must be performed by a licensed funeral director “under the supervision and direction of the county board of commissioners or other appropriate official, including the local health director, appointed by such board.” The Local Health Director is prepared to be appointed to supervise and direct the relocation. The City of High Point will make all necessary arrangements and be responsible for any associated costs.
