BACKGROUND
Background
The proposed Text Amendment Case #23-09-PLBD-00064 (attached) updates multiple sections of the Guilford County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to align administrative responsibilities, development review processes, and various terminology, with current practice and consistency with North Carolina General Statute 160D. While historically the Technical Review Committee (TRC) held decision-making authority for various development applications (see attached Jan. 3, 1985 Board of Commissioner action creating the TRC), the TRC’s role has transitioned to an advisory capacity providing multi-disciplinary expertise in administrative review of development plans and streamlines the review process to consolidate what would be various separate meetings with several departments, divisions, and agency(ies). These proposed revisions generally are housekeeping tasks for UDO transparency and maintaining the current collaborative review structure of the TRC while simplifying approval processes.
