BACKGROUND

Background

Pursuant to NCGS 115C"-521(a), local boards of education are required to submit a facility needs survey every five (5) years to the State Board of Education and the Guilford County Board of Commissioners is also required to receive and review the survey results.

The results of this survey, which includes both new school needs and renovation/repair of existing schools, allows the State to assess projected facility needs for the five to ten years.  The survey is based on a set of assumption within the database provided by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and does not necessarily reflect Guilford County Schools' local capacity or cost projections.  The results of the survey are attached, which include NCDPI's cost and capacity date for their 0-5 year period and 6-10 year period.
