BACKGROUND

Background

Guilford County Juvenile Detention is required by NC Statute to provide Healthcare & Behavioral Health Services to detained youth within the facility. The current contract will end on June 30, 2024, therefore a request for proposals (RFP) was advertised on December 12, 2023 and closed on January 18, 2024. The Guilford County Purchasing Department received four (4) written proposals on January 18, 2024. In order to assess each company fairly, members of the evaluation committee, including MWBE team members, reviewed and scored each proposal independently based on the RFP criteria. The committee met on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 and selected Wellpath LLC as the most responsible vendor. Our current contract (Wellpath) price for FY2023-24 is $492,417.72. Year over year, the increase from FY2024 to FY2025 is $403,608, a 82% increase. The contract will cost a total of $896,025 for the first year. The second year cost is $934,996 and third year cost is $975,721 for a three (3) year total cost of $2,806,742, with two (2) additional one-year renewals.
