BACKGROUND

Background

On August 31, 2018 The Vernon Law Firm paid 160.00 in exicse tax stamps to the Guilford County Register of Deeds on a NC General Warranty Deed recorded in book 8083 pages 568-570. This deed should not have been recorded in Guilford County because the property conveyed by the deed is located in Alamance County NC. The Vernon Law Firm requests a refund of the excise tax amount of $160.00 as shown on the deed mistakenly recorded in Guilford County.
