BACKGROUND
background
Multifactor Authentication is implemented to secure employee, contractor, and vendor logins to reduce the risk that County Information Technology Systems and Infrastructure may be adversely impacted due to a compromised account. The existing contract with Presidio Networked Solutions, LLC (formally ROVE) for a Multifactor Authentication Solution was approved by the Board of Commissioners on February 17, 2022, for a three (3) year term, with an effective date March 24, 2022, and an expiration date of March 23, 2025.
Staff are requesting approval to contract with Presidio Networked Solutions, with pricing, terms and conditions based on North Carolina Information Technology IT Contract 204X, for five (5) years beginning March 24, 2025, and ending on March 23, 2030. We are requesting to renew the contract for a five (5) year term to secure a 7.7% per user license discount over the initial contract pricing. There is an annual increase of $25,623.00 from our current expense of $154,056.60 per year to $179,679.60 per year, for a total five (5) year cost of $898,398. The net cost increase is due to increases in the number of employees, contractors and vendor accounts required to be protected by Multifactor Authentication.
Staff also reviewed another 3-year term quote. That renewal would have resulted in a slight increase of 0.88% over our current per user license.
