BACKGROUND
Background
Voluntary Agricultural Districts (VAD) and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (EVAD) were developed by the NC Department of Agriculture to encourage the preservation and protection of farmland from non-farm development.
During its March 15, 2021 meeting the Guilford County Agricultural Advisory Board approved the following applications:
1. VAD Application #2021-02, being 16.81 acres and comprised of one (1) Tax Parcel (#132986 @ 16.81 acres) all owned by Peter Allen Clark of Climax, NC.
2. VAD Application #2021-03, being 275.62 acres and comprised of two (2) Tax Parcels (#128232 @ 119.87 acres, #128555 @ 155.75 acres) all owned by Daniel Mosca of Brown Summit, NC.
3. VAD Application #2021-04, being 105.69 acres and comprised of two (2) Tax Parcels (#101455 @ 73.16 acres, #116582 @ 32.53 acres) all owned by John Andrew Clapp and Michael David Clapp of Greensboro, NC.
To date, approval of these applications brings the total number of VAD and EVAD parcels to 419, totaling 18,451.40 acres enrolled. Of these totals, 377 parcels comprising 16,714.16 acres are enrolled in VAD, and 42 parcels comprising 1737.24 acres are enrolled in the EVAD.
